Heidi
Director
Mrs. Heidi is a Maine Native and grew up in Sebago, Maine. She now lives in North Waterboro, Maine with her Husband & is a mother of 4 young adult children. As a young child Heidi was called the Baby whisperer and could sooth a crying infant at the young age of 7yrs. Heidi comes to us with a CDA & over 25yrs of Childcare experience. Specializing in Infant and Toddler care in a variety of Childcare settings.. Her favorite seasons are Summer and Fall and she Loves Camping and water sports with her Family. Mrs. Heidi is Grateful to have the opportunity to enjoy all the children here at Chickadee Daycare.

Amanda
Assistant Director
Amanda grew up in Massachusetts and recently moved to Maine after living in Tennessee for a few years. She went to Salem State University where she graduated with her degree in exercise science. She has always loved working with children and has had many years of childcare experience through nannying, babysitting, and Lead Teaching at Chickadee!

Haley
Playful Kits
Haley has been in the state of Maine her entire life, born and raised in Waterboro. She is new in childcare, however has had plenty of experience nannying and babysitting throughout her life - plus caring and providing for her own daughter born in 2025. She is coming from a CNA background with 10 years of experience. She has a passion in creating a safe, supportive, and fun environment where children can grow and learn. Her favorite things to do outside of her work is anything involving the outdoors, drawing, and as of recently baking deserts! She is very excited to be with Chickadee and be a part of the team!

Courtney
Chipmunks
Courtney is originally from Connecticut. She graduated York College of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree. She enlisted in the Navy in 2018 and was stationed in Everett, Washington. It was there she reconnected with her now husband. Her daughter was born in 2023. She just recently moved to Maine not to long ago due to her husbands orders being changed, and now she and her daughter are excited to be a part of the Chickadee community!

Jamie
Tiny Cubs
Jamie brings 23 years of childcare experience and a genuine passion for working with children of all ages. She is dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing and engaging environment where children can learn and grow. Teaching isn't just her profession, it's her passion and she takes pride in helping each child reach their full potential.

Ashanti
Tiny Cubs
Ashanti was born in Jamaica and raised in Maine. She is currently pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education and chose this field because of her passion for watching children grow, reach developmental milestones, and light up with excitement as they discover new things. Ashanti believes children learn best when they feel safe, supported, and have trusting relationships with the adults who care for them. Her heritage inspires her to celebrate diversity, embrace different cultures, and create an inclusive classroom where every child and family feels welcomed and valued. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys dancing, singing, and watching scary movies. Ashanti is excited to be a part of each child’s early learning journey and looks forward to helping them grow with confidence and joy.

Madison

Madison feels honored to have been chosen to be a Lead Infant Teacher here at Chickadee! Born and raised in Maine. A mom to 2 Wonderful little boys ages 2.5yrs and 2 months.
She feels grateful for this opportunity & looks forward to supporting all children and families of Chickadee. With 4.5 years of childcare experience, working with infants has always been something she is very passionate about & truly enjoys! Watching their personalities develop and getting to experience all of their exciting first milestones is so rewarding. She hopes to help establish consistency & growth for the Infant Team!

Katie
Infant Float
Katie is a Massachusetts native who moved to Maine with her husband and daughter in 2021, and is a Maine certified early childhood and elementary educator with over 10 years teaching children in grades pre-K to first grade. In addition to her teaching certification, Katie holds a bachelors in psychology with a concentration in counseling. She is passionate about creative therapies and fostering purposeful interactions that nurture emotional intelligence in early childhood.

Danielle
Little Fawns
Danielle has a passion for childcare grown through many years of related work experience, as well as through raising her three sons; Micah, Desmond, and Cosmo. She began assistant teaching in dance studios at the age of 8, after which she has held many roles, including lead dance teacher, summer program organizer/teacher, and nanny. She also comes with experience, both personal and professional, working with neurodivergent children. Danielle strives to curate a safe, respectful, and child led environment in which each little is met at their individual development, to best support them as the unique beings they are.

Maggie
Chipmunks
Maggie was born and raised here in South Portland, Maine. While in college, she studied art education and spent time working at a Montessori school. Maggie values creativity in all of its forms of expression and hopes to encourage little ones to learn through creative problem solving and play. In her free time she enjoys doing ceramics, being in nature, and spending time with her daughter, Ruby. We are excited to have Maggie and Ruby as a part of our Chickadee family!

Piper
Assistant Teacher
Piper recently graduated high school early with the class of 2025! She has always loved working with kids, whether that’s as a camp counselor, babysitter, or just a big sister. She is super excited to use her art and music skills to show kids just how creative they can be! She hopes to make some great memories with everyone!

Mara
Assistant Teacher
Mara recently moved to Portland after living in Boothbay Harbor for most of her life. She attended Thomas College, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Forensic Science. Although she is new to working in childcare, she gained valuable experience in college as a Behavioral Health Professional, helping young children with a variety of diagnoses and needs work toward their behavioral goals. She has also gained childcare experience through caring for her four young nephews. She is very excited to be working with children and to have the opportunity to help them learn and grow.
